Billing

Understand membership, usage credit, and payment records so you can see what you are paying for.

Open Billing

The tool opens in your Kwordia account. Dotted links explain terms in the glossary.

Table of contents

Before you begin

Kwordia keeps membership and research usage separate. Membership is priced in GBP, while paid research requests use a USD credit balance. Understanding that distinction makes it easier to check whether you need to manage your membership or add usage credit.

Choose Billing in the top navigation, or open the menu on a smaller screen. Read the membership information and usage balance before choosing a payment action.

Using this page, step by step

  1. Check your membership status and any access or renewal date shown. Starting membership does not automatically provide an opening usage-credit balance.
  2. If you need research credit, enter a top-up amount within the supported USD 1–500 range and review the payment details.
  3. Complete the PayPal approval and return to Kwordia so the payment can be confirmed. Wait for the updated status before starting another payment.
  4. Review the payment and usage records to understand changes to your balance. Use History when you need to connect a research charge with a query.

A worked example

If membership is active but a paid search cannot run because there is insufficient usage credit, the relevant action is a credit top-up. Paying for membership again would not answer the same need. Check both parts of the page before proceeding.

Understanding what you see

Research charges include Kwordia’s usage markup. USD usage costs and GBP membership payments are different amounts in different currencies.

“Renewal canceled” means future renewal has been stopped; read the displayed date to see how long paid access continues. It does not necessarily mean access ends immediately.

Common questions and problems

If PayPal approved a payment but Kwordia has not confirmed it, use Check payment or Check again where offered. Avoid starting a replacement payment while the first one is unresolved.

If the status remains unclear, contact support with the relevant payment details from the page. Do not share passwords or full payment-card details.
